On December 1, 2013, Bel Canto Choir Vilnius won Lithuania’s major National Choral Competition, thus becoming the best amateur choir in the country. The Choir triumphed at the competition wining the first place (92.2 points) in the mixed choirs category. International jury awarded Bel Canto Choir Vilnius with the first place prize; the choir Jaunyste from Kaunas got the second place; the third place went to the choirs Kamertonas and Pro Musica. Lithuania’s National Choral Competition is being organized every four years by the Lithuanian Choral Union and Lithuanian Folk Culture Center, and is aimed to assess the artistic level of the choirs and to select the best ones in the country. 38 first category choirs participated in the final round of the competition.

On November 23, 2013, Bel Canto Choir Vilnius was awarded with the first place at the Stasys Simkus International Choral Competition (mixed choirs category) in Klaipeda, Lithuania. The competition is one of the most prestigious choral competitions in the Baltics. The international jury, consisting of prominent choral figures from Germany, Italy, Latvia and Lithuania, gave Bel Canto Choir Vilnius 91.2 points, in comparison with 86 points at the same competition two years ago. The Choir also received two special prizes – the first one for the best performance of the mandatory song, and the second one for the best performance of the piece by the Lithuanian composer.
