Bel Canto Choir Vilnius presents: Delicate & Personal
2015 01 23
Bel Canto Choir Vilnius, Lithuania’s best volunteer choir, began the New Year by staging a cozy and delicate concert at St Catherine Church in Vilnius
After two sold-out Christmas and 5th anniversary concerts at Lithuanian National Philharmonics at the end of 2014, which attracted more than 1400 spectators, Bel Canto Choir Vilnius returned to the chamber concert hall of St Catherine church in Vilnius. The Choir, together with soloists Lina Dambrauskaitė, Jeronimas Milius and jazz pianist Artūras Anusauskas, performed a cozy chamber concert, entitled Bel Canto Choir Vilnius: Delicate and Personal.
For the first time after the Choir’s performance at the World Choir Games 2014, where it was awarded with a gold medal, the Choir performed the complete and extremely complicated Olympic programme. It included: O Quam Tristis by the Lithuanian composer Giedrius Svilainis, To see a World by the Swedish composer Sven-David Sandström, Neišeik, Saulala by renowned Lithuanian composer Vytautas Miškinis, and I am Here, a piece exclusively composed for the Bel Canto Choir Vilnius by Miškinis.
