Christmas Spirit Inside. Holiday album of Bel Canto Choir Vilnius
Christmas Spirit is mostly created by music. Some melodies have mingled with this holiday season so closely that they have become inseparable from it.
This is a collection of the most beautiful Christmas songs, performed by the Bel Canto Choir Vilnius. Most of them have become symbols of our modern Christmas and New Year celebrations. These popular Christmas songs are joined into a string of great melodies and Gospel compositions – Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by H. Martin and R. Blane; Christmas Pipes by B. Graham; spirituals Mary Had a Baby and Jesus, Oh, What a Wonderful Child and others.
This spectacular music firework casts a new light on the “old timers” of the collection – quieter classical sacral songs with profounder traditions – Christmas Peace Canon by J.A. Shafferman, and Shchedrik, a Ukrainian Christmas folk song, which gave birth to the worldwide popular Carol of the Bells.
This Bel Canto Choir Vilnius holiday season collection is embellished with jazz improvisations on Christmas themes, performed by Artūras Anusauskas, one of the best-known Lithuanian jazz pianists.
