Bel Canto Choir Vilnius Elects New Board and President

Bel Canto Choir Vilnius elected a new president and board for a two-year term from 2021 to 2023. Thirty-eight choir singers participated in the choir’s online general meeting on May 14, 2021. The choir also approved its annual financial reports for 2019 and 2020.

The board of Bel Canto Choir Vilnius consists of 11 members, who are responsible for specific areas and functions.

Agnė Juodvalkė, President of Bel Canto Choir Vilnius
Agnė joined the choir in 2012. She is a graduate of the Vilnius Balys Dvarionas Ten-Year Music School, having studied choral singing and conducting, and was a member of the Kaunas State Choir. In her professional life, Agnė is an organizational psychologist and freelance personnel expert, while in her personal life she is a mother of two and a spirited soprano with a passion for music, people, and gardening.

Andrius Gailiūnas, Board Member, Bass Representative
Andrius joined Bel Canto Choir Vilnius in 2017. He plays guitar and is a member of the bluegrass band Midnight Special. Andrius works for Pixelmator Team, a Lithuanian company that creates image and photo editing apps for Apple devices.

Gintarė Ramanauskaitė, Board Member, Soprano Representative
Gintarė joined Bel Canto Choir Vilnius in 2020 and is a coloratura soprano. She received her bachelor’s and master’s in classical singing from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, which was followed by an internship at the University of Graz. Gintarė spent more than ten years singing with a professional choir in Germany and has performed in many of Europe’s most prestigious concert venues alongside renowned classical music performers. In her professional life, Gintarė is a finance specialist.

Donata Sekonaitė, Board Member, Alto Representative
Donata has been performing with Bel Canto Choir Vilnius for nearly four years. She is a music school graduate in piano and has played piano for her school choir and ensembles. Donata has been singing in choirs since college. She works at Philip Morris as a senior commercial analyst responsible for analyzing market trends and forecasting and planning sales.

Dovydas Braukyla, Board Member, Sponsor Relations
Dovydas is a long-term member of Bel Canto Choir Vilnius, having joined in 2011. He is a music school graduate, plays guitar and has performed in choirs for more than fifteen years. In his professional life, Dovydas leads Planas Chuliganas, a contact center he founded and co-owns.

Evaldas Stulgaitis, Board Member, IT and Social Media
Evaldas is one of Bel Canto Choir’s founders and a tenor, who has been singing in choirs since his childhood. He is a music school graduate in piano, combining his passion for singing with playing electronic and keyboard instruments. By profession, Evaldas is an IT web system developer.

Simas Bačiulis, Board Member, Marketing
Simas is a long-term, founding member of Bel Canto Choir and a baritone. He has worked for Adell Taivas Ogilvy, one of Lithuania’s largest advertising agencies, for more than 10 years and is a member of its management team responsible for key client relations. Simas is a music school graduate, plays piano and has performed in choirs for more than fifteen years.

Audrius Valatkevičius, Board Member, Choir Producer, External Communications
Audrius is one of the founders of Bel Canto Choir Vilnius. He does not sing himself but is an incredibly passionate member of the choir’s team, who produces its projects and manages external communications and relations with both Lithuanian and international musicians, choirs and composers. A journalist by education, Audrius is a marketing, business development and communication professional with more than twenty years’ experience of working for Swedish, Norwegian and Lithuanian real estate development, investment and construction companies including Skanska, NCC, Mitnija and others.

Justinas Stanevičius, Board Member, Tenor Representative
Justinas joined Bel Canto Choir Vilnius in 2020. He is a music school graduate and a two-time winner of Dainų Dainelė song contest. In his free time, Justinas plays guitar and ukulele and is a singer-songwriter who has composed several pieces of sung poetry. Currently, Justinas works at Vilnius University, where he is responsible for internal communications and academic consultations.

Milda Laužikaitė, Board Member, Organizational Matters
Milda, who joined Bel Canto Choir Vilnius in 2020, has more than fifteen years’ experience in choral singing. She is a creative education expert and facilitator and the leader of the Kūrybinės Jungtys association. Milda brings professionals together for positive changes in areas of education and culture, develops educational and cultural programs and advocates for creative education in public discussions. Milda has a passion for transforming existing systems and finds inspiration in nature and interactions with people. She is convinced that music plays a key role in self-expression and community building.

Agnė Aleksejevaitė-Bagdonavičienė, Board Member, Legal
A long-term member of the choir, Agnė is an alto who also performs with the choir as a soloist. Music is her favorite hobby and a source of enormous pleasure, which was close to becoming her profession after finishing school. After graduating from the Akmenė Department of the School of the Arts in the District of Akmenė in choir and solo performance, Agnė sang for a number of years in Vilnius’s Balsai vocal ensemble. She also plays piano. In her professional life, Agnė works as a lawyer and has more than eight years’ legal experience in both private and public sectors.
