Bel Canto Choir Vilnius presented a concert to the Lithuanian and US soldiers on the occasion of Lithuania’s Independence Day

Bel Canto Choir Vilnius, Lithuania’s best mixed volunteer choir, gifted its special performance to the Lithuanian and US military forces on March 11, the 25th Anniversary of Lithuania’s Independence Restoration Day.

Soldiers at the Lithuanian and US (2d Cavalry Regiment) Land Forces, serving in Rukla, Lithuania, were presented with a cozy programme featuring classical and popular music by Lithuanian, American, Ukrainian composers as well as music writers of other nationalities. More than 40 singers of the Bel Canto Choir Vilnius were aided by a pianist Violeta Vaičiulienė.

“We wanted to show our attention, respect and admiration to the Lithuanian and US soldiers, serving in Rukla, on the Day of the 25th Anniversary of Lithuania’s Independence Restoration, and to congratulate them on this special occasion. This is the least we could do for the soldiers carrying out an important mission – defending our right to live, create and prosper in a free and independent Lithuania. I am proud of our talented and civic-minded choral singers who decided to congratulate the troops on this very special day and thank them for their service”, said Artūras Dambrauskas, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of Bel Canto Choir Vilnius.

On March 11, singers of the Bel Canto Choir Vilnius met the Lithuanian and US soldiers, visited military units in Rukla, and in the evening performed a concert for the soldiers at the concert hall of Jonas Stanislauskas School in Rukla town. The concerts’ lightening and sound equipment company “Mano Disco” also contributed to this initiative of Bel Canto Choir Vilnius by providing lightning scenography for the concert.
